Treatment of Verrucous Epidermal Nevus Using Long Pulsed Nd: YAG Laser
نویسنده
چکیده
Background: Verrucous epidermal nevi (VEN) are benign congenital epidermal hyperplasia and they constitute the most frequent form of epidermal nevi. Verrucous epidermal nevi lesions typically occur on the trunk or extremities but may also occur on the face and neck. The lesions may vary from skin colored to brown. No ideal treatment is yet available.

Inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal nevus: successful treatment with the 585 nm flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser.
Inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal nevus (IL VEN) is a benign hyperplasia of the epidermis of unknown cause that most commonly occurs on the lower extremities.l ? The lesion usually appears in early childhood and is persistent and pruritic. Treatments for ILVEN have been associated with high rates ofrecurrence and/or scarring. This is the first report of successful treatment of ILVEN with ...
متن کاملLaser-assisted hair removal: comparison of long-pulsed alexandrite and long-pulsed Nd:YAG lasers, individually and in combination
Background and aim: Laser is one of the most recent techniques which has widespread use in the treatment of many skin diseases. This technique has been successfully used to remove unwanted hairs in hirsutism. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the efficacy and safety of long-pulsed 755 nm alexandrite and long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd: YAG lasers individually and in combination for perma...
متن کاملInfluence of shielding gas composition on weld structure in pulsed Nd: YAG laser welding
This work studied the effect of additions of carbon dioxide to argon shielding gas on the weld shape and microstructure of ST14 steel in pulsed Nd: YAG laser welding. By additions of carbon dioxide up to 15%,the weld area and depth/width ratio decreases while rising of carbon dioxide up to 25% causes increasing of weld area and depth/width ratio. It is observed that the weld metal microstructur...
متن کاملCarbon dioxide laser versus erbium:YAG laser in treatment of epidermal verrucous nevus: a comparative randomized clinical study.
BACKGROUND A verrucous epidermal nevus (VEN) is a skin disorder that has been treated using different treatment modalities with varying results. Ablative lasers such as carbon dioxide laser (CO2) and erbium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Er:YAG) laser have been considered as the gold standard for the treatment of epidermal nevi. OBJECTIVE To evaluate and compare the efficacy, postoperative wound he...
متن کاملBilateral inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal nevus
Inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal nevus (ILVEN) is a unilateral skin disorder which usually manifests in infancy or childhood. Female predominance, frequent leg involvement, pruritus, resistance to treatment, and a psoriasiform histologic pattern are other common characteristics of this disease. Atypical presentations of ILVEN have been described and include late onset in life, wide...
